Sacramento looked to continue their strong start to the season with a visit from Loudoun United. Kieran Philips proved to be the decider of the match with a six minute brace off the bench in his home debut. This result also proved to be Coach Briggs' 100th win in the USL Championship.

Loudoun have been found in the bottom of the Eastern Conference for the past few seasons. They have not made a postseason appearance in their history. This year however, they have made a great start to this campaign. Coming into this contest, they were 7th in the Eastern Conference. They picked up wins against North Carolina and Memphis. But the last game for them was a 1-0 loss to Louisville City. They have picked up reinforcements including former Republic player, Drew Skundrich, before this season.

This two clubs have only met twice previously and it has been blowouts in favor of the Republic. Their first game was a 4-0 win back in 2022. And then last year was a 3-1 at Loudoun. Matt LaGrassa, Zeiko Lewis, Luther Archimede were the scorers on the night. But all of them are no longer with the club, so who will score for the Republic now against a strengthened Loudoun side? The last game for the Republic was a top of the table clash as they handed Orange County their first loss on the season. It was a 2-0 win, with Trevor Amann and Aldair Sanchez getting on the scoresheet.
