The Houston Dynamo of 2024 prefer to win their games away from home. While the performance was good, the play in the final third was not for most of this game; I blame fatigue and a lack of intensity. You can tell that Aliyu and Hector Herrera are ready to rest. However, they still have a couple more games until they’re able to do so.
Steres has consistently been one of Houston’s unsung heroes ever since his arrival here. One could argue that he’s done more for this team than some of the starters! Steres has the unique ability to play both on the left and on the right when needed.
In practice, I’m getting looks at (either) side,” Steres said in the postgame press conference. “(I can) cover a bunch of different spots.”
Now, Houston has to make a long trip to Canada before facing off against Vancouver. Both teams are playoff contenders with a lot on the line before Leagues Cup play begins. I expect a thriller of a match!

Houston were pretty much five minutes away from potentially dealing with a bad draw if it wasn't for Gaines, Kowalczyk, and Steres coming off the bench. The Dynamo once again show that they know how to build the quickest one-touch plays out of nothing, but still seem like they scramble to find the easiest path inside the final third. Seven out of Houston's twenty two shots were on frame and still looked like San Jose were getting a good hold of them at the start of the second half.

Need to be more effective in front of goal. Need to be able to convert more than one goal on 22 shots. As expected, the Dynamo were the aggressor. Dominating the game, possession & San Jose didn’t get a shot on target. Most importantly, Houston got out of a trap game with three points.
