Tampa Bay dominated Sacramento, handing the Republic their first loss on the season.

Another formidable Eastern Conference foe came to town in the form of Tampa Bay as Sacramento still looked to maintain their unbeaten record this year. Tampa Bay fully outclassed Sacramento on the night. A goal from Dennis, assisted by Farr, is what separated the two sides. And it was solely Vitiello that kept the margin respectable.
Coming into this match, Tampa Bay were solidly 4th in the Eastern Conference and were chasing down the conference leaders. Last match for them was where they dealt Las Vegas a 1-0 loss.
Sacramento for the first time this season were not the conference leaders coming into this match. New Mexico had passed the Republic for the top spot last week and Sacramento was trying to retake that spot. The last match was a 0-0 draw when they welcomed Birmingham into Heart Health Park. The last time these two sides met it was a 1-1 draw in Tampa Bay.
