As for Matt, the former professional player in Finland and Sweden was the former manager of Chicago House AC in the Midwestern Premier League. With House, he orchestrated a US Open Cup run that included a win over Forward Madison and a tough match with Chicago Fire. We chat about the kind of player he’s looked for as he builds a roster from scratch, how to sell Florida to the players he’s trying to sign, and how his playing days impact his managerial style.

He chats about the great start for the women’s team, moving the team to its permanent stadium, and the strategy to attract brands and fans.

The preseason officially begins and it’s a bit of a revolving door kind of week for RIFC as we see an additional player signed, but lose a fan favorite along the way. We’ll get you up to date with all of the latest news as it’s just 51 days before the first match of the 2025 season.
Soccer is exploding in America, from the top levels of MLS to the USL
and even "non-leagues" like MWPL, USL2, and others.
I spent 2024 in search of this growth and learned a lot, like how the
youth of America embracing soccer before other sports and seeing where
and how the game is spreading.
And I'm not done in 2025.
