Barcelona continues their fine form and momentum in the Champions League campaign as they take on Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. Barcelona is coming off the back of their strong win over the weekend but more importantly, they continue to struggle with finishing in the final third and key injuries. Shakhtar Donetsk in terms of recent form hasn't been the greatest but as a club they are in a mess as they sacked their manager a few days ago and have appointed a new manager today. Ferran Torres said in his press conference this morning that I feel very confident, very happy with the way things are going, I'm taking advantage of the opportunity. Xavi said in his press conference this morning that for us, this is a crucial match, the three points are key to getting through the group, but tomorrow we face a tough opponent. Overall this should be a very comfortable victory for the Catalan side but in the Champions League, as we've seen in recent years you never know what can happen, the team can not take this game lightly and has to go for the kill, although Shakhtar have not only been poor recently but also don't even have a permanent manager, a win is a must.

Barcelona beat Shakhtar Donetsk at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys by a very close two to one scoreline. Goals from Ferran Torres and man of the match Fermin Lopez secured the three points for the blaugrana. It wasn't the best performance from the team as they struggle to cope with all the injuries but credit to Shakhtar who played well. Overall job done and three wins out of three in the champions league.
