Joan Laporta has spoken to the media publicly backing the current Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez, the president states that it is very unlikely for him to sack Xavi at any point during the season but once we reach the end he will be judged on how he's done and what he's won and if it isn't up to standards it could lead to his firing. Barcelona is planning the signing of Vitor Roque in January but is also optimistic about conducting another operation, if financial fair play allows it the club wants to bring in a midfielder to compensate for the loss of Gavi, Deco is working on some loan options that could potentially have a future at the club if they do well. Alejandro Balde's recent lack of minutes in the first team has led to a premier league team making a big offer to the club to sign Balde during the summer, at the moment Barcelona aren't considering the offer as they see Balde as the future left back and Alejandro himself isn't interested in a move currently. Bayern Munich has been shut down with the chance to sign Ronald Araujo in the upcoming transfer window but won't give up hope and will try to sign him in the summer, Barcelona wants to renew his deal before June amid interest from Bayern and wants to seal an important player's future long term.

Barcelona got the result they needed in the end as they secured the points for the first time in a while after beating Almeria. Yet again the performance wasn't convincing, we didn't win by more than two goals, and we couldn't keep a clean sheet. The most important thing was getting the win and hopefully, the players use this as momentum going into the 2024 year.

Barcelona takes on Almeria in La Liga action at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in the final competitive match of the 2023 calendar year. The blaugrana side is hoping to end the year off with a high, especially with the poor run of results recently. Almeria are by far the worst side in the league as they haven't even won a game this season so far. Xavi said in his press conference this morning that it's an important match for us, after three games without a win. Winning the league is still possible and we have a chance of winning it. We play good football, but we have to win the matches, we have to play a complete match tomorrow. Overall if this isn't not only three points but a win by more than two goals then we might as well call the season off, this has to be a dominant performance with many many goals, the pressure is on the manager and players to end the year off on the right foot going into the new year.
