Couldn't agree with you more. Not only would this be must watch TV similar the Premier League, our player pool for the national team would strengthen. The character that pro/rel creates, that urgency is what we are missing. That said I think that there almost needs to be some type of training wheels for running a "club" for pro/rel in the US. Anyone thinking of ownership in the US (continental) use NFL,MLB,NBA as their example. So what we get is that mentality , that thought process, its almost habit. Interesting those US owners in Europe, how many have MLS teams?? Why are they comfortable with owning in Europe and that model , why not here too? Keep preaching , I am here to listen and support :)!
