These first three games have not been nice to DynaDos. Whether it’s been bad luck, controversial refereeing, or a combination of both, this season hasn’t gotten off to a great start. However, there have been some promising signs; the most important thing now for these young players is to consistently show those signs and believe in themselves. That’s easier said than done, but they can do it with Kenny Bundy as their coach.

In the 5th minute, the Dynamo had their first true opportunity of the game when Ifu Achara forced a save from Marcus Alstrup. Not much happened for either side in the following 20 minutes.

In the 30th minute, Ousmane Sylla made a decent run into the opposition’s far post. However, his cross was deflected away by Austin’s defense. 11 minutes later, Sylla again was the catalyst of a dangerous attack. The midfielder was able to connect with Achara on the far post, but the attempt at goal was blocked by Alstrup.

In the last minute of the first half, Diego Gonzalez had a stellar free kick saved. The shot was tucked into the top corner, but Alstrup did well to clear the ball.

In the 51st minute, disaster struck when Exon Arzu accumulated his second yellow card of the match and was sent off. For the rest of the game, the Dynamo would have to battle with only 10 men.

In the 66th minute, Alstrup came up big yet again for Austin. He denied Gonzalez another opportunity at goal. Shortly thereafter, in the 70th minute, Adam Abdouh made his professional debut. The defender was one of the eight Dynamo academy players/alums on the field. Say what you want about the result; seeing these many academy graduates playing professionally is good for the future of the Dynamo first team.

In the 80th minute, Austin’s Jimmy Farkarlun crossed the ball towards CJ Fodrey, who then scored the first and only goal of this encounter between rivals.

DynaDos will return home this Thursday, April 4, to face Minnesota United 2. Make sure to go to SaberCats Stadium and watch the next generation of Dynamo players!
