Just as we thought the Republic were going back to their usual ways, Oakland comes into town and drops another loss on the Republic. Oakland went up 3 goals and it took some late heroics from Cristian Parano and Trevor Amann to make the score look respectable. But Oakland was clearly the better side for a majority of the match.
Oakland Roots came into this match on the outside of the playoff line, in 9th place. However, they were also riding a relative hot streak, winning 3 of their last 4 matches.
