Join me! As I travel to watch the USMNT at the CONCACAF Nations League Finals in Dallas, Texas!

In this episode, we open with a match preview from USMNT legend Stuart Holden ahead of the semi final between the USA and Jamaica. The Reggae Boyz take a shock lead as we talk to AFTV’s Cecil Jee Thomas. An own goal in the 96th minute saves the USMNT, leading to extra time. In extra time Haji Wright plays hero as the USMNT advance to yet another classic final against Mexico.

In between the semi final and final we attend the Copa America playoffs at FC Dallas Stadium. The first match sees Canada earn their place in this summer's tournament with a win over Trinidad and Tobago. In the second playoff a packed stadium cheers on Honduras to an early lead over Costa Rica. It was not to be for Los Catrachos however as Los Ticos booked their spot in the Copa America.

Finally the main event as USA looks to extend their dominance over Mexico. The US supporters section is loud and represents well in spite of an overwhelmingly pro Mexican crowd. This support is rewarded as Tyler Adams lashes a ball from well outside the box past Guillermo Ochoa. The USMNT seal the win with a goal from Giovanni Reyna for that famous scoreline again. 1: The first half looked like a match after an intl break. TBF a lot of the matches this weekend did. Attacking ideas were there, we just weren’t quite incisive enough for most of the first 45. There was more opportunity for us to counter off of their direct play.
2: All that being said, ball retention in the opposition half was very good. All Chicago was interested in was counters and direct balls. Ironically enough two of our goals came off direct play. We continue to score in a variety of ways. 
3: We’ve got a back up to back up our back up plan. Jamal is a proper back up striker. That’s massive for us given some of the injury problems GG has and his international duty. Great finisher with great instincts. 
4: This was the game Noah Cobb needed and he did not put a foot wrong. We were pretty dominant throughout but he had just enough to do. He’s had really tough matches so this should be a confidence builder for him. 
5: Somehow, someway, we’ve got to replicate these home performances on the road. The Benz is becoming a fortress again. Great. Home points are not enough. Hopefully we can get three at whatever field NYCFC find to play on next week.
