FC Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde sustained a severe injury while playing for the club in the Copa Del Rey quarter-finals, resulting in a hamstring injury. The player has opted for the surgery treatment and will miss the rest of the season. Tests have confirmed that Alejandro Balde has an injury to the tendon in his right hamstring. In the coming days he will undergo surgery in Finland by Dr. Lasse Lempainen. After the surgery is done, a new medical report will be published.

Barcelona will take on Deportivo Alaves at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in a crucial match. The blaugrana are currently going through their worst form since Xavi has taken over as manager and are planning on using the Alaves match to help boost confidence and morale ahead of another international break. Alaves sit five points above the relegation zone and are performing to expectations this season although despite losing they've made it difficult for the top teams this season when they've faced them. Xavi said in his press conference this morning that we want to get back to our game and recover our good sensations if we stay true to our identity and do things the right way, the results will come, we have to push ourselves to the maximum because this is Barça. Overall this should be a very comfortable three points especially with the current situation, any drop points in this match will lead to utter choice and with the break coming up the players and coaching staff literally can't afford not to win this game.
