Houston weren’t able to win their last away match of the regular season against St. Louis. The Dynamo were forced to rotate due to some injuries and players needing rest; the result was reflective of the changes made.

St. Louis found the scoresheet early in the 14th minute after the Dynamo were caught outside of possession, and all it took was a couple of touches from St. Louis that eventually reached Simon Becher inside of the penalty box.

Although Houston did rebound with some intensity, St. Louis was able to weather the storm and enter halftime with a one-goal lead.

The second half went much worse for the Dynamo, as the home side would score twice to further extend their lead.

Escobar got sent off in the 79th minute, officially putting the game to bed. Both teams had a total of nine shots, but Houston weren’t able to convert any of their chances. St. Louis was able to score all three of their shots on target, showcasing their efficiency in front of goal.

Brooklyn Raines played in the Hector Herrera role this match, and although his performance in this match wasn’t perfect, Brooklyn held his own in a tough away environment. He was more physical and the passing was crisp. Compared to how he started the season, Brooklyn has turned into a different player.

“I’ve asked a lot of these players and our staff, so we are looking forward to a recharge over the next couple of days at the start of the international break,” Ben Olsen said after the match. “We will get back (in) two weeks to prepare for Los Angeles and will push to keep getting better.”

Houston will host the LA Galaxy for their last regular season match on October 19. The club will also celebrate fan appreciation night.
