“Dynamo 2’s most recent loss against Colorado Rapids 2 saw them slide down the table again to dead last in the conference. While this season has been less than ideal from a results perspective, it’s important to remember that wins and losses are secondary in MLS Next Pro. Instead, teams hope that their younger players get the professional experience that will propel them into the first team. I do think that Kenny Bundy has done a very good job of that in the past couple of years and even now. This result against Colorado however has highlighted what has gone wrong this season on the field.”
“The players are talented, but the chemistry seems off. In some moments, the transitions between defense and offense looked really well established. Sometimes, it’s the exact opposite: passes that seem routine end up resulting in turnovers and dangerous opportunities. It’ll be difficult for Kenny Bundy’s side to make the playoffs after this start. But, if the team is able to improve in those key game states and end up improving their form, I will still consider their season a relative success.”
Andres Naranjo (@DynamicFoxtrot):
“Houston Dynamo 2 show so much talent and persistence for a team that has only managed to earn two wins out of thirteen games so far. Team chemistry is something that has been haunting them throughout the year, with their game against Rapids 2 encapsulating how a team with promise keeps falling apart when it matters most.”
“Dynamo 2 find themselves at the halfway point of the season and sitting in last place of the Western Conference with more questions about their approach going forward that need to be answered.”
Eric Simpson (@Old_Soccer_Guy):
“I think it's time to let Bundy have free reign. The individual talents are not getting the team tactics. I believe you can get more out of the players if the club uses them differently”
