Barcelona will take on Real Mallorca at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in what is a big match ahead of the Champions League next week. The blaugrana are coming off the back of a poor draw last weekend against Athletic Club and a reaction is needed. With the huge UCL tie against Napoli next week this is a good opportunity to build momentum and confidence and potentially rotate a few players. Xavi and Ronald Araujo are suspended for this match. Real Mallorca is currently experiencing the best moments of their season after qualifying for the Copa Del Rey final and beating second-place Girona. Xavi said in his press conference this morning that we have prepared for the match very well. We’ve analyzed Mallorca, but then we have to do the talking on the field, and it’s more difficult. We need to be inspired, like when we played Getafe. Overall this is very much a 50/50 in the sense that both teams feel they can win, Barcelona needs to push for second place while also having one eye on the UCL, Mallorca thinks this Barcelona side is getable, this game has the potential to ruin this season should the result go south.
