Barcelona will have their most difficult match of the season so far as they take on Porto in the Champions League at the Estádio do Dragão in what is also the most difficult match on paper of the group stages. Barcelona continued their unbeaten run to start the season after defeating Sevilla in La Liga. Porto was unbeaten until their last match but lost to Benfica in the O Clássico. Joao Felix said in his press conference this morning that Barcelona is a big club, to which I have adapted well, but the most difficult thing is for everything to continue just as well. Xavi said in his press conference this morning that we have a lot of players with one more year, with more experience, who have already won titles here, we have strengthened well, and, in this competition, we hope to be at the level that Barça requires, it's an ideal scenario to prove it. Overall this will be a true test of how good this Barcelona team is and how well they can compete, of course we can lose and still make it out of the group but this match will give the initial indications if we're a serious team this season or not.

⁣This week, we sat down with Ft. Lauderdale United midfielder Addie McCain, the Golden Boot leader and one of the league’s brightest stars. The Texas A&M Aggie scored eight goals in 14 matches to lead the scoring charts and help secure a playoff position. A former 5A State Champion with Wylie East High School and an SEC First-Team standout, she reflected on her time as an FC Dallas youth product and what it was like growing up in the Dallas youth soccer scene from the female perspective. Barcelona is beginning to plan the target for the upcoming summer transfer window and has the pivot reinforcement as the main priority, the three main names recently have been Guido Rodriguez, Martin Zubimendi, and Joshua Kimmich but now the club has doubts about all three of them leaving them with no main targets whatsoever in a position they must sign someone. The club is in the market for a midfielder with a similar profile to Yaya Toure and has identified Bruno Gumiares, Amadou Onana, and Youssef Fofona as their preliminary targets, whether this would be considered a priority in the summer remains to be seen however the club are monitoring midfielders with the Yaya Toure profile. Bayern Munich is keen to sign two of Barcelona's centre-backs amid injuries they've suffered in that position, Clement Lenglet is an option and would be a simple operation it's just down to Bayern agreeing to Barcelona's terms but Ronald Araujo is their dream option and apparently Thomas Tuchel called Araujo to try and convince him to join but the Uruguayan has refused. President Joan Laporta has confirmed the club is interested in signing both Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix on a permanent basis following their loan deals.

Barcelona is beginning to create a list of pivots to target in the upcoming transfer windows, so far they've identified Martin Zubimend, Ederon, and Bruno Guimarães as their main options and continue to watch Gabriel Moscardo and Mats Wieffer as well, it remains to be seen who the priority will be but the options are becoming more clear. Barcelona suffer yet another injury blow during international duty and it's Marc Andre Ter Stegen who's pulled out due to a back injury, test to be performed later on today but the signs are mostly positive, Inaki Pena is ready to step in if needed.

It's quite clear that the priority for the club in the summer is to reinforce the pivot position with a big-name signing as Xavi sees both Joshua Kimmich and Martin Zubimendi with good eyes, they will be relatively the same price but the profiles are bit different but nonetheless signing a pivot this summer is crucial for the teams development. Bayern Munich has made it clear in the media that they are big admire of Ronald Araujo, manager Thomas Tuchel is a big fan of the player and made an inquiry on the case of signing him but that was immediately shut down by Barcelona as they saw the player as untouchable and will begin talks to renew his contract soon. Deco met with the agent of both Ilkay Gundogan and Andreas Christensen yesterday to discuss the player's current state at the club, while Gundogan is doing well it is Christensen who has some doubts as he's been benched for the majority of big games this season so far. Oriol Romeu has failed to perform whatsoever over the past two months as he's having difficulties dealing with the media pressure, the club may look to offload him sooner than expected.
