Barcelona is in the market for a new manager come the summer as Xavi has announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the season, Joan Laporta and Deco are tasked with finding a new manager which won't be easy as the market is quite limited, at the moment the favourite is Hansi Flick alongside Thomas Tuchel, Roberto De Zerbi is liked but difficult to sign. The club has set their conditions to sign Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo on a permanent transfer, Cancelo is very likely to continue with an agreement expected to be reached with Manchester City but Joao Felix depends on how lenient Atletico Madrid is. Barcelona has sent a renewal offer to Frenkie de Jong of a contract until 2029 with a salary reduction, De Jong's entourage hasn't responded to the offer which was sent a few weeks ago but the club is expecting an answer in the coming weeks.

The international break comes to a close for the third time this season and club football returns. Barcelona are entering the most crucial point of the season as they have a month of football that will 100% define their seasons and it starts with a league match against Rayo Vallecano at the Estadio de Vallecas. The blaugrana currently sit in third place and four points off the top of La Liga despite their shaky performances of late but are one step away from falling down the pecking order. Barcelona hasn't managed to get a win over Rayo Vallecano in their last four matchups. Rayo Vallecano is having an average season so far but has performed well against the top teams. Xavi said in his press conference this morning that the media affects the players and is not an excuse to say that we have played worse. I don't want people to think that, in no way. That they are affected by criticism, yes. But it's not an excuse. We have to play better regardless. Overall this is such a crucial match to the point that anything but a win will kill all the momentum we can have ahead of the big clashes in the upcoming week, the players and the staff must perform and that won't be easy, especially after an international break, a win or bust.

Xavi hasn't been convinced so far by Joao Felix's performance and impact on the team and isn't keen on making his move permanent, Atletico Madrid is still asking for a high transfer fee but Felix himself wants to stay at the club and only has the support of the president Joan Laporta, Laporta likes the player and has a good relationship with his agent Jorge Mendes. One of the top-rated youngsters in the world Claudio Echeverri has made it clear that his dream is to join Barcelona, the club wants to sign him but it is a bit out of the transfer budget currently but Manchester City and Chelsea are ready to pay now, but Echeverri has made it clear he plans to wait until the summer for Barcelona to be able to afford him. Inter Milan is eyeing a shocking January transfer move for Barcelona captain Sergi Roberto, it remains to be seen the conditions of the deal but Roberto isn't keen on a move in the middle of the season and prefers to wait until the summer hoping the club will offer him a renewal. The Super League during its ruling last Thursday has seen a 'remontada' begin for them as they plan to start up the league in the next few years, giving Barcelona one billion euros.

JJ Williams scored his second hat trick in as many games to lead Rhode Island FC to a 3-2 victory against Indy Eleven on Sunday afternoon at Michael A. Carroll Stadium in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals of the 2024 USL Championship Playoffs presented by Terminix, sending the first-year club through in its inaugural playoff game after a hard-fought clash on the road.
