Despite reports suggesting that Barcelona is out of the race for Martin Zubimendi and Joshua Kimmich, the rumours still continue as there are now reports saying that Bayern Munich is keen on signing Zubimendi and selling Kimmich to Barcelona. Xavi is a massive fan of Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, the gaffer wants him to be signed in January along with Vitor Roque but the club hasn't made a move for the Argentine,. Spurs don't want to let him leave. Bayern Munich is a huge fan of Ronald Araujo and following a phone conversation with the sporting director Christoph Freund and manager Thomas Tuchel the German side wants to push for his signing in the summer, Araujo conveys his ambition to stay in Barcelona and commit to a new deal which the club is working on. Oriol Romeu could make a shock move to the other side of Catalan returning to Girona following a poor few months in Barcelona.

Barcelona takes on Granada at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in La Liga action. The blaugrana are coming off the back of back-to-back wins in the league and rivals Real Madrid, Girona, and Atletico Madrid all dropped points last weekend. Another opportunity awaits the side from Catalan as they take on a team that sits second from bottom in the league and is on course for relegation while top teams will be taking on each other. Xavi said in his press conference this morning that Granada changed coaches a few days ago. I think that with Medina they have bettered in defensive fear, aggressiveness, of duels. We imagine a Granada in low block, in need of points, that has improved. Difficult rival with needs. We need the support of the fans to continue with the good streak. Overall this has to be a comfortable win without a doubt, at home to one of the worst teams in the league and with Real Madrid taking on Girona someone is dropping points and we must be ready to take advantage.

In this video, Connor and Jack preview the pre-Copa America friendlies scheduled (so far) by the 3 CONCACAF giants Mexico, Canada, and the USA. Those friendlies include 3 matches: Mexico vs Uruguay, Mexico vs Brazil, and the USMNT vs Colombia. The CANMNT has yet to schedule any friendlies, though they are rumored to *potentially* play Uruguay, Colombia, or another South American team.

In this episode of Rivercity 93, we break down Richmond's hard-fought 1–0 loss to NCFC, decided by an 80th-minute goal that slipped through an otherwise solid defensive setup. The Kickers showed tactical flexibility, frequently dropping into a back five with Dak helping anchor the line, and Pablo Jara delivered his best performance in goal since joining the club—making multiple key saves to keep the team in it.
But despite the improved defensive shape, Richmond struggled again on set pieces and couldn’t convert one-on-one chances. We dig into what worked, what didn’t, and what needs to change moving forward.
Plus, we revisit the ongoing questions around creativity in the final third, missed opportunities, and what the team’s ceiling really looks like with this system.

1: The first half looked like a match after an intl break. TBF a lot of the matches this weekend did. Attacking ideas were there, we just weren’t quite incisive enough for most of the first 45. There was more opportunity for us to counter off of their direct play.
2: All that being said, ball retention in the opposition half was very good. All Chicago was interested in was counters and direct balls. Ironically enough two of our goals came off direct play. We continue to score in a variety of ways.
3: We’ve got a back up to back up our back up plan. Jamal is a proper back up striker. That’s massive for us given some of the injury problems GG has and his international duty. Great finisher with great instincts.
4: This was the game Noah Cobb needed and he did not put a foot wrong. We were pretty dominant throughout but he had just enough to do. He’s had really tough matches so this should be a confidence builder for him.
5: Somehow, someway, we’ve got to replicate these home performances on the road. The Benz is becoming a fortress again. Great. Home points are not enough. Hopefully we can get three at whatever field NYCFC find to play on next week.
