Joao Cancelo has made it clear twice in the media over the past week his desire to continue at Barcelona beyond his current loan from Manchester City this season, the club is thrilled with Cancelo and has already decided to sign him on a permanent basis with talks expected with Man City soon. Bayern Munich has cooled their interest in Ronald Araujo a little as they want to sort out their current centre backs future before dropping around one hundred million euros to sign one, however, Araujo wants to see Barcelona sporting project and know who the manager is before making his decision.

Villarreal is having a terrible season for their expectations as they sit five points above the relegation zone and are on their third manager of the season. Xavi said in his press conference this morning that I'm happy to play at Montjuic again after more than a month. We need the public, Villareal is always a complicated team to play against, especially with Marcelino who always has organized teams. Overall with some of the big teams having a potential chance of dropping points, the boys have to stay on their toes, we need to regain our confidence and momentum ahead of the Champions League next month, dropped points in this game will guarantee chaos around the club and media.

Barcelona will take on Athletic Club at the San Mamés in the quarter-finals of the Copa Del Rey. This is a crucial match-up for the Blaugrana side as it's their best chance to win silverware this season. The Catalan side is coming off the back of a strong victory against Real Betis in the league with the performance being one of the best we've seen in months. While Athletic Club on the other hand lost their unbeaten run in all competitions as they lost to Valencia in the league. Overall a game like this will always be difficult but being at the San Mames will make it ten times worse, in order for the team to progress they need to keep the crowd quiet by dominating the midfield, this is a good time to face Athletic Club so we shouldn't waste, keep composed and finish the chances we create and there is an opportunity to be in the final four of the cup.

Barcelona plans on trying for Bernardo Silva this summer, as long as their fair play improves & are in the 1:1 rule, Laporta wants to use the ‘Vitor Roque’ approach (6-month installment plan) — paying the release clause is what City will put on the table. Jorge Mendes plans to extend João Félix’s loan at Barcelona and at the same time get Ansu Fati on loan at Atlético Madrid, however, Atlético Madrid wants money from Félix’s exit and a simple swap even on loan would mean them losing money as The Portuguese costs much more on the amortization level. Ronald Araújo's renewal is not far away. Everything accelerated when President Laporta told Araújo on March 6th, at the presentation of the Uruguayan documentary, that Barça was going to bet on him despite a huge Bayern Munich offer. Xavi's continuity at Barça is more open than ever.
